Roommates with Don

My brother, the director, photographer, producer, artist. He is doing amazing things everyday! One of my favorites are the hilarious sketches him and his friends create. Brian Stevens, Andreas Riter, and Joe Pettinati directs a hilarious Mad Men parody. "Being Don Draper's roommate isn't all it's cracked up to be." If you haven't seen this yet you are in for a laugh. Bring back newspapers

[California-based artist Lauren DiCioccio hand-embroiders her pieces based off of imagery seen in old issues of The New York Times. From Gerald Ford's Funeral to Lady Gaga on the cover of The Arts section, DiCicoccio focuses her attention on the tangible beauty of printed news and media.

Each piece includes a full issue of The New York Times wrapped in cotton muslin. One selected image is then hand-embroidered on the front of the fabric, where details are not exact and layers of colorful thread mix together and hang from the cotton in messy waves.] via.

Flower Child

Since my mom just left, I have to tribute this post to her since she loves flowers and when she was here we read all about the Austin wildflowers. This is creative director, Raf Simmons, debut of decorating five rooms in a Parisian mansion with a million real flowers for the Christian Dior Autumn/ Winter 2012 Couture show. [The rooms were covered from floor to ceiling in a solid tapestry of flowers which included blue delphiniums, white orchids, pink peonies and a wide range of colored roses.] via. 

Meet Nala

Meet Nala, the newest member of our family. Maybe I've gone a little crazy with the pictures of here but she really is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. Cuteness is a helleva drug. 

Family On The Road

Mom & Dad visit Austin:) A few snapshots of their trip: Juiceland, my house, South Congress bridge,
Zilker Botanical Gardens, Uncommon Objects, LBJ library museum, and the Salt Lick bbq. We really had a fantastic couple of days. I didn't get any pictures of us in Barton Springs but they were great sports and loved every minute of it. Miss my family every day!!!
